The Tuning Process
Each string’s pitch is individually set. Concert A is tuned to 443 Hz, intervals are well-tempered, and notes are tuned without beats.
Precise tuning
Each string is tuned to the exact pitch to achieve a harmonious overall sound.
By ear
We tune by ear—not with electronic devices—for the best musical result.
Instrument check
During tuning we inspect your instrument and point out necessary or advisable additional work.
Piano Care
Proper care is crucial for your instrument’s longevity and sound quality. Here are key tips for optimal piano or grand care.
The Right Humidity
For the stability and longevity of an instrument, it is important to maintain a moderate relative humidity in the room. We recommend measuring humidity with a modern electronic hygrometer.
In our climate, an ideal value for relative humidity is between 40 and 60%. In winter, during the heating season, many rooms become too dry because cold air is heated indoors, causing the moisture content of the air to drop.
In cases of overly dry air, we recommend purchasing a special device to regulate humidity directly in the instrument, such as those from the LifeSaver brand.

Keyboard Care
You can clean the keyboard with a damp cloth—damp, not wet.
Ivory Care
For instruments with ivory keys, keep the fallboard open so the keys get light. Clean with a damp leather cloth.
